Autumn Apothecary

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.”
– Albert Camus

Fall is one of my favorite times of year….there’s just something so special about transitioning from the warmth of summer and watching life shed its skin. Ever year I look forward to the excitement that comes with knowing the holidays are around the corner, along with all the delicious food and drink they bestow on us. This year I’ve begun crafting recipes for my new apothecary with a emphasis on tasty little treats for the Thanksgiving season…

Smoked Jalapeno Honey

honthoney

This honey is just perfect for fall, with is delicious blend of sweet and smokey heat. I’ve already used it in a poultry marinade and have received orders from family to give as gifts. I have a feeling this is going to be a popular item, as it’s such a versatile flavor and something everyone will want to try at least once.

Mulling Spices

I think everyone needs a few hot cups of mulled wine or apple cider to get into the holiday mood , this spice blend  is the perfect staple for  the kitchen witch’s cabinet!  It has the usual cinnamon, allspice and clove….but I’ve added ginger and few other nice aromatic herbs to keep your home smelling amazing and your taste buds intrigued.

Lavender infused Olive Oil

oil

I decided to try my hand at selling sampler packs of herbal infused oils, for those who want to make their own lip balms, or utilize the raw ingredient for their own needs.  I often cook with infused oils to add hints of flavor and aroma to my food. Other times I do it purely for health reasons. For this sampler pack I’ve chosen common, frequently used herbs –  here I am highlighting my Lavender oil in all it’s sweet beauty. She will be arriving soon with two other herbal oils in a nifty holiday sampler pack  🌙
