Book Recommendation for Herbalists & Bakers 🌱👨🏽‍🍳

I’m going to try to add a book recommendation every month or so on my blog, for herbalists or bakers. I think book suggestions are really valuable, especially if you’re trying to learn about more creative techniques for your baked goods. And if you need more information on your herbalism journey this info is just necessary ….

BOTANICAL BAKING by JULIET SEAR

Inside cover imagery

I’ve always wanted to use edible flowers in cooking and had been casually searching for more culinary information on it for years. Surprisingly, herbalism school didn’t really address this topic. We learn a lot about tincture making, brewing vinegars, alcohols, teas, plant identification, harvesting, growing location, storage….but not much on actual culinary perspectives. So when I found this about 5 yrs ago, I was so pleased.

Juliet does exceptionally well on explaining techniques on HOW to use florals and herbs in your baking. She doesn’t just suggest or give ideas, she gives step by step directions on many recipes using flowers as decor or infusing them into the recipe for taste, color or aesthetic.
